Just Beginning is a project of the Youth Law Center, based in San Francisco, California, and is designed as a destination for leading child and foster care policy advocates, researchers and practitioners throughout the United States. The resources on this website provide practical, up-to-date research on attachment, child development neurology and physiology, as well as the latest news and events in this fast-breaking field. The goal is to give leaders the most effective information and techniques they need to improve the lives of those who are too little to stand up for themselves.

Just Beginning is totally supported by private contributions. It is staffed by the Youth Law Center professionals and volunteers committed to improving the lives of young children and their families. But more than that, Just Beginning is place for leaders in the child advocacy field to exchange ideas, find support and make a difference.
